The Parks and Recreation Department is comprised of a Parks and Recreation Director, Administrative Assistant II, Special Services Supervisor, Caretaker - Lake, Center Director, Facilities Manager, and twelve (12) support staff. The department oversees programming for both youth and adult programs including soccer, T-ball, basketball, softball, and volleyball. The Department's mission is to provide recreational opportunities for the citizens of Conway that may improve the health, happiness, and well-being of everyone located in and around the city through its parks, indoor recreational facilities, and sports program for both youth and adults that are provided in cooperation with area agencies.

Park Improvement Bond Issue Passes.
The Log Cabin Democrat reported that 1,140 votes were cast for the parks bond issue, with 391 votes against it, and 1,141 votes were cast for the trails bond issue, with 395 votes against it.

Parks and Their Descriptions
Airport Park
includes 6 acres off of 6th Street, located across from Conway Municipal Airport in East Conway. It consists of one softball field, a playground, one basketball goal and three large parking areas.
Bainbridge Park
consists of 6 acres located at the end of Kensington Street in West Conway. It includes one pavilion, three basketball goals, a small playground and a large parking area. This park is also an entrance to the Tucker Creek Walking/Bike Trail.
Beaverfork Lake
is located on 1,200 acres off of Highway 25 in Northern Conway. The lake has areas for swimming, boating and fishing. It also includes areas that can be rented for barges. This park has several picnic tables with grills, one large pavilion and one small pavilion. There also is one large handicap accessible fishing dock. The park also includes two sanded volleyball courts, one concession stand, three large bathrooms, one lighted softball field and three large parking areas. There is a charge for daily or yearly boat launching ($5 daily or $50 yearly for county residents and $50 daily for out of county residents), everything else is free to the public.
Curtis Walker Park
includes 15 acres which are located just east of The Conway Human Development Center off of Siebenmorgen Road in East Conway. It consists of one lighted baseball field, two basketball courts, a playground area and one large parking area. This park also includes a lighted youth football field with a concession and restroom area.
Don Owen Complex
sits on 125 acres located at 10 Lower Ridge Road right off of Highway 65 North just off of Exit 125 of I-40 in East Conway. It consists of the Conway Sports Center, six t-ball fields, three lighted adult softball fields which includes restrooms and a concession area. The complex also houses the Faulkner County rodeo arena which consists of one large barn, one small barn, one large rodeo arena, coral areas, two announcer stands, restrooms and a concession area. Also located just south of the softball fields is a pavilion and just northeast of the softball fields is a small playground. This park has ample parking in five large parking lots located throughout the park and includes facilities for everyone of all ages.
Fifth Avenue Park
sits on 10 acres located between 5th Avenue, Vine Street and 7th Avenue in East Conway. This park consists of two large pavilions, one lighted adult softball field, two fenced and lighted tennis courts, two basketball goals, a large playground area and a volleyball net. This park also has a large restroom, two large parking areas and one small parking area.
Gatling Park
is located on Tyler Street in Central Conway. It's 13 acres include one lighted basketball court, two fenced and lighted tennis courts and one playground. This park also consists of two large parking areas and ample green space.
Laurel Park
sits on acres that rests between Robinson Avenue and Prince Street across from Conway High School West Campus in Central Conway. This park includes a large state of the art playground, three basketball goals, four fenced and lighted tennis courts and one soccer field. In addition this park includes one pavilion, one large restroom, a 7/10 mile jogging track and three small parking lots.
Simon Park
is located downtown next to the Conway City Hall. The park consists of a covered band shelter, park benches, water spray fountain, and a caboose. The park is used during the annual Toad Suck Daze Festival each May and for numerous other functions throughout the year.
Tucker Creek Walking/Bike Trail
sits on 30 acres which lies between Salem Road and Reedy Road in West Conway. This trail is 1.2 miles long and runs east and west along Tucker Creek. It is paved and lighted and has benches along the way. Off of the Salem Road entrance there is a large parking area and one large pavilion. The trail can also be accessed from Bainbridge Park with it's large parking area.
 
Sports Centers
Don Owen Center
is located in the Don Owen Complex off of Lower Ridge in East Conway. It houses three basketball courts and one 1/8th mile walking track with three lanes. It also has four racquetball courts and one large meeting room. Racquetball courts can be reserved and cost $2 per hour, however everything else is free. The meeting room holds up to 100 people and is free, but needs to be reserved.

McGee Center
is located between College Avenue and Prince Street in West Conway. This facility sits on 11 acres and has three basketball courts, one 1/8th mile walking track with three lanes and four racquetball courts. The racquetball courts can be reserved and cost $2 per hour to play, however everything else is free. The facility also has one large meeting room which can hold up to 150 people and one small meeting room which can hold 25 people. The meeting rooms are free and must be reserved.

Conway Skate Park (Adjacent to the McGee Center)
