Parks: YBMA and Girls Softball Master Plans . . .
Construction on a "Girls Softball Complex" at Siebenmorgen Road and Bob Courtway Drive is scheduled to get underway in May 2008. Construction on a "Boys Sports Complex" at the site of the former YBMA fairgrounds will probably start in Spring 2009. Boys activities will be scheduled at the Siebenmorgen Road complex for 2009 while their facility is under construction. Construction on both facilities should be complete by Summer 2010. Click on the links above to view the master plan for each facility. And while you're viewing the plans, please be thinking about appropriate names for these new parks because we invite you to submit your suggestions for names for each of these parks. Just email your suggestions to Felicia Rogers (felicia.rogers@cityofconway.org).

Are you ready for ROUNDABOUTS?
As many drivers and others are aware, the city of Conway in recent months completed construction of its first roundabout as part of the city street system. Another is in process at Bob Courtway and Siebenmorgen. And more are coming. One is planned for Western Avenue at Prince Street and two are slated for Harkrider—one at its intersection with Siebenmorgen and the other at Winfield. If you would like to prepare yourself for the roundabout experience or just become more knowledgeable about roundabouts, follow this link http://www.mnltap.umn.edu/publications/videos/ModernRoundabouts/ to a video produced and funded by the Minnesota Department of Transportation (Mn/DOT) and the Local Road Research Board (LRRB). Another informative video from the Insurance Institute for Highway Safety can be found at http://www.iihs.org/research/qanda/roundabouts.html.
